The eight-person gondola takes you to the Karkogel mountain station at 1200m. An ideal starting point for easy or demanding hikes against the impressive backdrop of the Tennengebirge. The 1980 m long Summer toboggan run on the moving mountain is certainly one of the most exciting summer toboggan runs in Europe.

Russbacher Hornbahn  with a slow train

“Above the roofs of the world in Dachstein West”
You can take the gondola to the Hornspitz and explore the beautiful alpine area at 1450 meters above sea level on easy to moderately difficult hikes. The impressive view of the Dachstein Glacier, Gosaukamm, Tennengebirge and Bischofsmütze stops time. The slow train rolls from the mountain station Ant Express to the Edtalmhütte!

The Donnerkogel cable car

in Annaberg takes you comfortably to the hiking paradise of Dachstein West on the sunny side of the “Salzburg Dolomites” with the striking Bischofsmütze. The mountain station is the starting point for wonderful hikes and mountain tours on the Zwieselalm and in the Dachstein Mountains.  Postalm

Get out of everyday life, up to the mountain pasture! Discover the beauty of the Postalm – Austria’s largest high plateau. A beautiful panoramic road takes you right into the heart of the alpine and hiking paradise.
One of the most frequently asked questions is about the name “Postalm”. When Bad Ischl was still the summer residence of the Austrian emperors, there was also an important post office with many stagecoaches and a large number of horses. In the summer, some of the horses were brought to the alpine pasture for summer recreation and so the name “Postalm” came about naturally.
Today the entire area, which includes many alpine pastures such as Lienbachalm, Einbergalm, Wiesleralm, Thoralm, Pitschenbergalm...etc. includes, collectively referred to as “Postalm”.
The Postalm still serves as a summer pasture where not only the horses find relaxation here, but especially cattle. At the beginning of June, over a hundred farmers from Lammertal raise over two thousand young animals. The dairy cows are kept by the dairymaids at the huts and are used for the daily supply of milk, butter and alpine cheese.
On the Postalm you can spend hours crossing wide alpine meadows or well-marked areas Circular paths hike. You will be pleased to see the number of people seeking relaxation in the vastness of the alpine pastures and peaks, so that you are sure to find your very own place to relax Favorite cabin.
