The Eglsee, a special gem in Abtenau. As a refuge for rare bird species and aquatic animals, the small lake surrounded by a wide belt of reeds is under landscape protection.
The Bluntautal nature reserve is unique in its natural beauty and certainly one of the most enchanting spots in the Salzburg region.
A romantically located side valley of the Salzach Valley with crystal-clear, deep green lakes, framed by the rugged rocks of the Tennen and Hagengebirge.
The Eglsee Nature Park in Golling is just a few minutes' walk from the town center - a place of peace and relaxation. With an idyllic water lily pond, embedded in green parkland.
The Seewald lake, a beautifully situated mountain lake near St. Koloman. The atmospheric natural lake is easy to walk around - and is particularly suitable for families. On the way to the lake it is worth taking a detour through a real fairytale forest to the Wilhelmskapelle.
The Gosausee is a remnant of the last ice age.
The Ice Age glaciers carved out the trough in which the water was then dammed. The magnificent pinnacles of the high Dachstein are reflected in the crystal clear meltwater. The easy-to-walk circular route around the lake - past rustic alpine huts - takes a good hour
Rupertus spring healing water
Two medicinal springs, “Rupertus and Annaquelle” (sodium-calcium-chloride-sulfate mineral springs with the quality of the world-famous Karlsbad water!), were successfully used in the Bad Abtenau spa until mid-1960. The healing water is now owned by the community and will be used again in the future.
Kneipp
Cold water is so healthy: Pastor Kneipp once said and he still has many enthusiastic followers.
Idyllically located at the foot of the Tennengebirge in the Au, you will find the Abtenauer Kneipp facility, which is fed by the fresh spring water of the Schwarzenbach. A beautiful excursion destination - you can combine your Kneipp treatments with a picnic in refreshing, sparkling nature.
